Stone composite stair finish with 4.3 mm build-up height

Curved staircase with natural stone composite overlay treads

In renovation and transformation, the staircase is rarely the problem — the build-up height is. Genuine terrazzo or natural stone is too heavy and too thick for existing structures; print and vinyl fall short next to a resin floor or mineral wall finish. EverStep Solid is an overlay tread system in solid recycled natural stone composite with a system thickness of 4.3 mm and an integrated stair nosing. Stair geometry and riser proportions remain intact, and the material experience is mineral — not a print repeating its pattern. All technical data is publicly available in our technical handbook, with no forms in between.

Geometry preserved, even where nothing else fits

The 4.3 mm build-up height (approximately 4.7 mm including elastic adhesive) means riser proportions, door heights and walking lines remain intact — including in energy renovations where the floor build-up already runs high, and on existing staircases too steep or too tight for thicker systems. The stair nosing is integrated into the tread: no separate aluminium profiles, no trip-sensitive details, no dirt accumulation along edges. Two fully documented project cases — social housing in Bodegraven and an energy renovation with Fermacell floor build-up in Utrecht — are available in the handbook.

Performance with standard references

EverStep Solid is classified Bfl-s1 in accordance with EN 13501-1, making it suitable for escape routes and stairwells. Anti-slip performance is integrated into the material itself: dynamic friction coefficient μ > 0.60 in accordance with NEN 7909, classification R10/R11 in accordance with DIN 51130. Wear resistance: 10,000 Taber Abraser cycles in accordance with ASTM D4060-84. Bond strength: > 4.0 N/mm² in accordance with EN 1542. Emission performance at Indoor Air Comfort Gold level, tested by Eurofins. Test reports are available as part of the project file; the full system requirements matrix is in the handbook, along with specification texts available on request in STABU format for both the overlay tread system and the integrated anti-slip upgrade.

Three renovation systems and one anti-slip upgrade

A matching system for every project situation.

EverStep

The overlay tread for residential renovation through dealers.

EverStep Solid

The heavy-duty version with SolidLux UV coating for intensive use in apartment buildings, commercial and public buildings — immediately loadable after UV curing, with no drying times, so stairwells can be renovated tread by tread or floor by floor without closure.

Signature

The complete, hand-built staircase finish including stringers, risers and handrails, for projects where the entire staircase is delivered as one whole — supplied through dealers, with the EverStep tread included as standard.

GripStep Pro

For existing concrete staircases that only need an anti-slip upgrade.

Colour as a design parameter

The Stone Naturel, Stone Blend and Terrazzo collections comprise fifteen standard colours, but for project work colour is fully controllable. In the digital Omnistair Studio colour mixeryou compose your own flake mix, produced as a physical sample. Design pigments are matched through the Sikkens 5051 colour system, and at the Experience Center in Waddinxveen over 110 pigments are available to tune mineral structure and stone composition to the architectural identity of the project.

Circular, with substantiation

The material is recycled stone composite with a circular material build-up; the system was selected for Beyond Circular. The solvent-free system build-up and low VOC emissions are relevant for BREEAM, LEED and ESG trajectories. Because renovation fully preserves the existing structure, the material impact is limited to the walking surface.

Samples, guidance and knowledge

Every project phase has matching support: physical samples and reference images at sketch design, technical datasheets and the handbook at final design, specification texts on request and test reports at the specification phase. Detail drawings of connections are available on request through project advice. An Omnistair project specialist thinks along from the first material question through to the delivery report.

Yes. EverStep Solid is classified Bfl-s1 in accordance with EN 13501-1, making it suitable for escape routes and stairwells.

The system thickness is 4.3 mm, approximately 4.7 mm including the elastic adhesive — comfortably within the margin to keep riser proportions and door heights intact.

Yes. Test reports in accordance with EN 13501-1, NEN 7909, ASTM D4060-84 and EN 1542 are available as part of the project file.

Specification texts in STABU format are available on request for both the overlay tread system and the integrated anti-slip upgrade.

Yes. Beyond the fifteen standard colours, colour is fully controllable for project work through the Omnistair Studio colour mixer and the Sikkens 5051 colour system, with over 110 pigments available at the Experience Center.
