A slippery, white-painted half-turn staircase was fitted with EverStep overlay treads in Earth Harmony terrazzo — anti-slip built into the material itself, matched to the wooden floor in the hallway.
What was solved here?
Terrazzo treads, fitted directly over the existing staircase
This Tilburg home already had a warm parquet floor — the white-painted staircase lagged behind. Real wood on the stairs would make the interior too wood-heavy; the floor had to remain the eye-catcher.
The choice was EverStep in Earth Harmony: a terrazzo look in which the brown tone of the floor returns in the flake mix. Staircase and floor form a single whole, without a double wood look. The risers were deliberately kept white, letting the terrazzo treads sit in naturally. At just 4.3 mm, EverStep fits directly over the existing treads — without shortening the nosings.
And it's safe too: the anti-slip sits within the colour pigments themselves as real texture, not a coating that wears off. A world of difference compared to the smooth painted treads of before.
