Our story — Omnistair
Omnistair did not begin as a business plan. It began as an honest question, asked by someone with 25 years of staircase experience: why is there still no durable, high-quality solution for staircase renovation?
The origin

Coming from an entrepreneurial family, I founded Creastairs more than 25 years ago — an interior business that grew into a specialised staircase renovation service in Waddinxveen. Every staircase I renovated taught me something. And what I learned was that the market had stopped moving.
The choice was always the same: wood pattern or plastic. Nice ideas, but nowhere the combination of material, durability and craftsmanship I was looking for. After 25 years I knew exactly what was missing — and I decided to make it myself.
The first direction seemed logical: recycled plastic. Light, scalable, affordable. But when I approached a Flemish manufacturer, his answer was honest and sobering:
"My friend, I can make it for you, but as a single piece it will always hold tension."
— Flemish manufacturer, after the first conversation about recycled plastic
Plastic was not an answer. It was a compromise. That weekend, along the dykes and quays, I looked at the natural stone that has withstood the heaviest forces for centuries. If natural stone can handle such forces — why shouldn’t it be the foundation for the strongest staircase renovation ever made?
That is how Omnistair was born: seamless, thin, immensely strong and durable. And now evolved into Omnistair Signature — the complete staircase finish for dealers, including stringers, railings and LED lighting, fully bespoke.
From idea to system
After searching internationally for the right production partner, a tread of recycled natural stone composite was created of just 4.3 mm thin — stronger than structural steel, four times lighter. No need to shorten stair nosings. Fits directly over existing treads, even on narrow and old staircases where others give up.
Available in three collections: Stone solid, Stone mottled and Terrazzo. The only overlay stair system made from natural stone, where previously only wood pattern and plastic existed. Further developed with EverStep Solid — the same philosophy, heavier build, with SolidLux UV coating for utility and public buildings that competitors cannot touch.
Recognition
Omnistair is not a self-declared market leader. Every claim is on paper — verified by independent institutions, expert juries and more than 750 staircases installed.
In 2025 Omnistair was selected by the expert jury of InCoDa — Beyond Circular, the international circular design competition. Not a nomination — a selection. Recognised as a frontrunner in sustainable staircase innovation.
Where we are heading
Omnistair sells exclusively through certified dealers and installers. Not because it is easier, but because quality starts with craftsmanship on the work floor. Trapmeesters® — our internal training programme — is in development to certify and safeguard that craftsmanship.
The mission is clear: what used to be wood and plastic becomes stone and terrazzo. That is not an ambition — that is the direction the market is already moving in, and where Omnistair already stands.
