EverStep Solid
For staircases used all day, every day

EverStep Solid is the project version of the Omnistair system: natural stone composite overlay treads, finished with the SolidLux UV coating system. Designed for stairwells where hundreds of people walk up and down every day, and where a staircase must meet requirements that go beyond those of a home.

Sustainability
The SolidLux coating has been tested by Eurofins and meets the requirements of Indoor Air Comfort Gold. Developed by Koninklijke Van Wijhe Verf — the first chemical company in the world to hold B Corp certification.
The coating can contribute to certain sustainability criteria within a project, including BREEAM — the actual contribution depends on project requirements and the assessing body. Van Wijhe Verf operates in accordance with ISO 14001.

What does EverStep Solid cost?
EverStep Solid is supplied on a project basis. The price depends on the number of treads, the accessibility of the stairwell, the planning, and the version required — a building with forty treads is priced differently from an office staircase with fifteen.
A project quote specifies the number of treads and measurements, the chosen colour, substrate preparation, installation, and planning. The full technical documentation is available in our public technical handbook.
Available colours
All fifteen colours are available as standard, the same three collections as EverStep (Stone Naturel, Stone Blend, Terrazzo). Request a sample to assess colour and finish in your own environment, or view the collection at our Experience Center in Waddinxveen.
What sets EverStep Solid apart
Stronger than structural steel — tensile strength of 535 MPa, demonstrated by test report. Four times lighter than steel.
Where a residential tread reaches its limit
A staircase in a home is walked on a few hundred times a day. A stairwell in an apartment building, thousands of times, with wet shoes, shopping bags, prams and house moves. That's not a difference in degree but in kind — and it calls for a different finish.
EverStep Solid shares the same core as EverStep: natural stone composite, fitted directly over the existing tread, without shortening the nosing. The difference lies in the finish. Where EverStep is finished with a water-based coating, Solid receives the SolidLux UV coating system from Koninklijke Van Wijhe Verf.
What SolidLux adds
The coating cures under UV light, immediately after application. That means there's no multi-day drying period during which a stairwell can't be used — often the most difficult part of a renovation for a homeowners' association or a school. The system is solvent-free.
With this finish, the tread meets the requirements of NEN 7909 for slip resistance, and fire class Bfl-s1 can be demonstrated. This makes the system suitable for buildings where escape routes must meet requirements that a standard staircase renovation does not satisfy.

Which buildings is this for
From homeowners' associations to healthcare facilities
Stairwells in apartment buildings and homeowners' associations, schools, offices, healthcare facilities, hotels and public buildings. Indoors and, under project-specific conditions, outdoors — the exact application is technically assessed in advance. Also suitable for homes where particularly heavy use is expected, although EverStep is usually the more logical choice there.

What a homeowners' association or property manager wants to know in advance
Planning, documentation and long-term maintenance
How long the stairwell will be unusable, what happens to the existing treads, what documentation you receive for the completion file, and how the work relates to the long-term maintenance plan. We prefer to answer these questions in advance rather than afterwards; they often determine whether a renovation goes ahead at all.
Frequently asked questions
Omnistair EverStep Solid is developed for heavily used staircases in residential buildings, utilities, public buildings and commercial projects where standard stair cladding is not sufficient.
EverStep Solid is the heavy duty version within the Omnistair platform. This variant is specifically designed for higher loads, more intensive use and professional applications such as public buildings, care institutions and utility projects.
EverStep Solid is finished with SolidLux UV coating by Royal Van Wijhe Paint. This coating is immediately load-bearing, extremely wear-resistant and contains no solvents.
Yes, Omnistair EverStep Solid is developed for applications in public buildings, utilities, commercial projects and other environments where high loads and durability are important.
Yes, EverStep Solid meets the NEN 7909 anti-slip standard. This makes the system suitable for situations where extra safety and grip are required.
The EverStep Solid tread has fire class Bfl-s1; the SolidLux UV coating has fire class B. This means the system is suitable for projects with stricter fire safety requirements, such as public buildings.
Yes, EverStep Solid is developed with a focus on sustainability and healthy indoor air. The coating has been tested by Eurofins and meets the requirements of Indoor Air Comfort Gold. The system aligns with projects that have requirements around BREEAM, ISO 14001 and low-emission materials.
The coating of EverStep Solid has been tested by Eurofins and meets the requirements of Indoor Air Comfort Gold. This is an important standard for healthy indoor air and low-emission applications.
EverStep Solid is developed for heavy loads and intensive daily use. The material combines high wear resistance with high strength: stronger than structural steel — tensile strength 535 MPa, demonstrated by test report — yet four times lighter.
Omnistair EverStep Solid has a thickness of 4.3 mm. This means the existing staircase can be retained in many situations without major renovation.
Despite its heavy duty properties, EverStep Solid can typically be installed within one day, depending on the project and situation.
Yes, EverStep Solid has an integrated stair nose. This provides a sleek appearance and extra strength on the most loaded parts of the tread.
